—Report by Rebekah Lucien, VOHM Haiti Business Manager

In spite of many severe hardships for us, we are confident that God has called us to be here and to serve the Haitian people. Please pray for us:

1. That we might be filled with His grace in order to stand in these days of
    discouragements and frustrations.
2. For our safety and health and the health of our children.
3. For our orphan ministry. Pray for their health and safety. Three of them
contracted cholera, but their lives were spared. Pray for the couple, Mr. and
Mrs. Henry Claude, who are giving their lives to minister to them.
4. Pray for wisdom in reaching out with the word of God to many hopeless ones in
    Haiti.

Thank you for partnering again with us and to each one we wish the Lord's blessing in the year 2011.

Construction Begins – Fall, 2010
Eglise Evangelique de la Grace

Grande Riviere du Nord

Church members have been collecting and pledging money to begin the construction of this new church building.  The congregation has been meeting in an old coffee warehouse since 2003.  The location of the new church is ideal; located right in the busiest part of town.  The old building on the property had to be torn down and now, using materials they have purchased themselves, the members, along with members of the churches in Cap-Haitien and Berard, have started the work to make the building a reality.
2010 Report

›  In the days and weeks after the earthquake in Port a Prince, we worked to rescue people from the ruins and brought them north to safety
›  We made it possible for 250+ students to finish out the school year at College Susan Schuenke because their schools were destroyed at no cost to them
›  Completed the building of the Orphan House in Berard and the orphans moved into their new home in June
›  Completed the water project that provides fresh, safe drinking water to thousands in the village of Berard and surrounding towns
›  Began the process of planning for a university that hopefully will open its doors in September, 2011

WORK TEAMS
We currently are seeking teams with construction experience to help in making improvements on our school and ministry center.  We prefer those with previous third world experience but are willing to combine newcomers with experienced teams.
