| Twenty years ago a small, somewhat unlikely collection of people were meeting for prayer, Bible study, and just enjoying one another and a shared relationship with Christ. The home gathering had been meeting already for many months, and the sense was that this fellowship might or maybe should grow into something even more. The common ground was a deepening love relationship with God and each other [which is probably a pretty good measure for what . . . “church” is supposed to be!].
This group of friends, more and more, began to feel and see God’s clear leading to establish something more defined and distinct. A vision for a church ministry and mission began to take shape, and people’s commitment to be a part of something fresh and effective for Jesus Christ continued to mature and take shape. In some simple but huge steps of faith, a core of courageous believers and families launched out in an adventure that is still moving forward and still maturing in a unique calling of the Lord. It’s CCF.
This many years later, and through the rigors and testing of life together, Christ Community Fellowship is a sacred venture that God has birthed, nurtured, preserved and protected, and commissioned for His purposes, for this generation and the ones to come: A collection of souls, knitted together for the assignment of portraying and sharing the Living God with those around us–experiencing and sharing a heart-level, life-shaping relationship with Jesus Christ. He is the reason that we are here.
He is the reason we do what we do.
He is the reason that we will continue and bear fruit.
He is the reason that we ARE.
Twenty years. Wow. Twenty years of God's sure and reliable work in us, and among us, and through us. “To Him be the glory in the church and in Jesus Christ to all generations forever and ever. Amen.”
